Junior Service League is committed to the sponsorship and support of Toys for Blount County, and fosters interest among its members in all areas of community service.

A word from our President

It is truly an honor to represent the Junior Service League of Maryville as their 2011-2012 President. Junior Service League of Maryville is a group of 75 women from Blount County that work together with the common purpose of serving in our community. This exceptional group of women has managed to accomplish great things in Blount County for over 60 years. Since our charter in 1951, Junior Service League holds firm to our mission in that “we are committed to the sponsorship and support of Toys for Blount County, and foster interest among our members in all areas of community service.”

In keeping with this mission, Junior Service League raises thousands of dollars each year to fund Toys for Blount County. Through the help of our members, our sustainers, and our friends in the community, we are able to provide toys to over 1,000 children each year at Christmas. In addition to this effort, each of our members volunteers hundreds of hours annually to various local organizations and agencies.

I am very proud of the work that we are doing and the lives that we are touching in Blount County. Winston Churchill once stated, “You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.” For the past five years, it has truly been a privilege to work with the women of this organization who give of themselves so generously.
